The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) is an executive agency of HM Revenue & Customs. Most, though certainly not all, of the work we do involves compiling and maintaining the rating and council tax lists for England and Wales. It is these lists that form the basis for the business rates and council tax bills issued by local councils. For more information on our work, visit the Valuation Office Agency homepage

Our local offices are responsible for valuing property in the area: you can see a list of all the districts covered by this office on our group page.

If your enquiry relates to any other HMRC services, or you are looking for your local HMRC tax office, please use the search on www.HMRC.gov.uk.

If you wish to travel by taxi, a 'black cab' (a traditional London Taxi) will operate on a meter basis allowing the passenger to keep a track of the cost of the journey.

Additionally, drivers of these vehicles are required to pass taxing tests prior to receiving a licence, this means they have a detailed knowledge of London streets and shortcuts.

If you do use a mini-cab instead, be sure to negotiate the cost prior to the commencement of the journey as often these vehicles are unlicensed.

TRAVEL DETAILS

Travelling By car
We do not advise driving the Westminster location due to there being no parking at the location, severe parking restrictions in the locality and a shortage of street parking spaces, both the cost and difficulty in finding a space in the local NCP car park and the extreme traffic congestion. However, should someone wish to drive, the routes available are far to numerous to list here depending upon the point at which a traveller would enter the London area.
