The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) is an executive agency of HM Revenue & Customs. Most, though certainly not all, of the work we do involves compiling and maintaining the rating and council tax lists for England and Wales. Travelling By car

If driving northwards along the A12

• Take the exit for Colchester Central (also signposted A & E).
• At the roundabout take the second exit onto the A133 and at the next roundabout take the third exit onto Westway that leads to a further roundabout.
• Take the third exit and drive up Balkerne Hill, at the next roundabout take the first exit onto Southway and just past the traffic lights there is a multi-storey car park.
• On walking out of the car park onto St John's Street turn right and take a right into Abbeygate Street to access the underpass. On exiting the underpass walk along Southway. The entrance to Colchester VOA is just after Chapel Street South.
• Although there is a car park on site it has a limited number of spaces so pre-booking is necessary Please call Brian Wallis on 01206 287117.

If driving southwards along the A12

• Take the Colchester exit that is also signposted for Harwich and Clacton.
• Take the second exit onto the Ipswich Road and cross over the next roundabout. At the double roundabout turn right onto Cowdray Avenue and continue straight over the first roundabout.
• At the next roundabout take the first left into Westway that leads to a further roundabout.
• Take the third exit and drive up Balkerne Hill, at the next roundabout take the first exit onto Southway and just past the traffic lights there is a multi-storey car park.

Travelling by Public Transport

• The office can be reached from Colchester North Railway Station on a No 78 bus that runs 3 times an hour or a No 2A bus that runs every half hour.
• The buses stop in the High Street from which there is a 5-minute walk to the office. (It takes 15 minutes to walk directly to the office from the station.)
• From Colchester Town Railway Station the office can be reached within 5 minutes by foot.

DISABLED FACILITIES

• Office opening hours: Mon to Fri 8.30am until 5pm.
• There are no Disabled car spaces at the building.
• Access to building is through heavy double doors to the front of the building. There is a doorbell situated to the right hand side

of these which will alert staff in the office. A member of staff will be down to assist you.

• Office is on three floors.
• There is no lift.
