Integration of Rent Officer functions
Tim Eden presented a background paper and asked the Board to endorse further work to be carried out in investigating cross-team working for some VOA and former TRS activities, where similar skill sets existed. The Board approved this further investigation.
Proposed VOA Agency Security Programme
The Board considered the mandatory government requirements for data security and the assessment of the Agency’s position. Further work would now be carried out to detail areas where specific action might be necessary. The Board approved work to commence on mandatory security accreditation, via Risk Management and Accreditation Document Sets (RMADS).
Monthly Data Security Update
Paul Sanderson provided the Board with the monthly verbal update on data security.
Agency Performance
Performance against all the Agency’s KPIs and other targets, at 30th April, were reported to the Board in the Information Pack. In the meeting, the Board focussed on the KPIs and targets relating to the Rent Officer functions and Tim Eden provided an overview of performance against these KPIs.
The KPI to review 25% of the Broad Rental Market Areas (BRMAs) for Local Housing Allowances was on track. There had also been very good progress to determine Housing Benefit claims, where no inspection is required, in 3 working days – this was 99.7% against the 95% target. Tim reported a good performance against all other Agency targets for Housing Allowance work.
Proposed Programme Management & Delivery
Following a review of the Agency’s current programme and project set up, the Board considered a proposed structure for programme management and delivery, with the aim of maximising any benefits and value for money. The Board were broadly content with the proposed structure and agreed that this should be trialled on some existing projects, with a view to rolling this out to other main programmes if that proved successful.
Any Other Business
The Board noted and welcomed the extension of Dawn Johnson’s appointment as Non- Executive Director for a further year to 31 May 2010.
