There was a failure of the system supporting the transmission of electronic proposals from the VOA internet site for the period 15 January to 02 February 2005.
Proposals submitted using the facilities within the VOA 1995/2000 Rating List Application were not received by VOA Group offices. If you used the application between those dates you would not have been aware of the problem.
Although the fault has now been rectified, it has not been possible to retrieve any details of the electronic proposals made during this period.
If you made a proposal using the VOA internet site between the 15 January and the 02 February 2005 and have not yet received a formal acknowledgement letter please complete and submit a fresh proposal before 31 March 2005. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
After 1 April 2005, if you want to establish that you served a proposal during the period when the facility was not functioning we will ask you, in accordance with our normal practice, to provide some form of supporting evidence eg a printed record from your IT system.
The current system supporting electronic proposals is due to be replaced from 01 April 2005. The new system will offer far greater resilience preventing a similar failure in the future. Full details of the new facilities will be announced nearer the time.
