Accessibility Statement

The Valuation Office Agency is committed to providing fully accessible information through its website to the widest possible audience.

Standards Compliance

The Valuation Office Agency currently acknowledges some deficiencies in the usability and accessibility of its website particularly for those visitors using assistive technologies to access information. O ur aspiration is to conform to all of the Guidelines for UK government websites and the Worldwide Web Consortiums (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, Level AA, and ensure we maintain this standard once it is achieved. We aim to be fully compliant by March 2011

We will strive to obey the spirit of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) of 1995 with respect to the provision of services online, as required by the Disability Rights Commission (DRC).

Access Keys

The UK Government Access Keys Standard has been applied to this site. These provide a keyboard shortcut for users wishing to go directly to specific parts of the site and help those who do not use a pointing device, such as a mouse. A subset of the standard has been used and the access keys are defined as follows:

How to use access keys

Access keys work slightly differently depending on which browser and type of computer you are using - this is a summary of the main different ways:

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or above on a PC, press 'alt' and the access key character at the same time, then press the enter key

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 on an Apple Macintosh, press 'control' and the access key character at the same time

Firefox users on a PC can press Shift + Alt and the access key character

Safari users on a PC can press alt and the access key character

This accessibility initiative is also supported by Netscape 6; use the 'alt' key on a PC, or the 'ctrl' key on an Apple Macintosh
