The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) is an executive agency of HM Revenue & Customs. Most, though certainly not all, of the work we do involves compiling and maintaining the rating and council tax lists for England and Wales. Travel Details

Travelling By Car

  1. Exit M62 at junction 24 known as Ainley Top
  2. At the roundabout follow the signs for Halifax continuing approx 5 miles to the town centre
  3. On approaching town centre go through traffic lights past Halifax Building Society Headquarters on the left
  4. Continue left at the next roundabout along Fountain Street
  5. Take the right exit following Cow Green
  6. Then take the first left onto Lister Lane to the multi storey car park

Travelling by Public Transport

By Bus

The bus station is approx 5 minutes walking distance from the office.

  1. Proceed from bus station main entrance (past Ryans Newsagents)
  2. Cross the road onto Crossley Street and keep walking up hill
  3. Turn left at Deep Pan Pizza restaurant and continue to the zebra crossing
  4. Use the crossing and bear left slightly onto Crown Street
  5. Continue a short distance to the top of Crown Street
  6. Crown House is the last building on the right

By Train

The train station is approx 10 minutes walking distance from the office.

  1. Proceed from the station across the bridge to the traffic lights on the left
  2. Cross the road and continue uphill along Horton Street past Argos and continue onto Wards End where you will see the Victoria Theatre opposite.
  3. Cross the road onto Fountain Street walking past the Victoria Theatre on your right.
  4. Follow the road in the same direction past the Barum Top pub, Excess Night Club and a terrace of shops to Crown House.
