Business Rates > National Ratepayers' valuation forum > Local Authority co-ordination group

The Local Authority Co-ordination Group (LACG ) was set up at the request of the Local Government Association to explore the possibilities of agreeing the rateable values of local authority properties prior to the next revaluation. Local authorities are major stakeholders in the rating system and business rates represent a big liability for them, as for other business ratepayers.

The Group aims to promote dialogue and information exchange between the Valuation Office and the local authorities with the ultimate aim of producing rateable values which can be accepted by local authorities without the need to appeal.
